Hello Docent and Volunteer friends:
Do you enjoy reading about architecture and design in Chicago and the world? Do you want to learn more about lesser-known architects? Are you inspired by the adventures of travel buffs? Do you want to know more about the cultural contributions of diverse communities? Are you curious about achievements and interests of CAC staff and fellow docents and volunteers?
If you answer yes to these questions, you probably enjoy reading the feature articles posted on the Bridge every Friday. Every week, without fail, the Communication Committee publishes announcements and features of interest to the whole CAC body with the help of our intrepid staff liaisons, Jared and Cole.
These stories do not come from AI, and they are not spun out of air. They are written by people like you who have interests and experiences they’d like to share with the community. If you’d like to submit a story, but aren’t sure if it’d be of interest, feel free to run the idea by one of our co-chairs, Lisa Ciota and Emily Clott.
Generally articles run about 1000 words or less, and, if possible, include photos…who doesn’t love photos?
Some categories the articles tend to fall into are:
- All About Us (news about milestones or achievements outside of CAC)
- Globetrotters (travel stories)
- Short Tales (anecdotes about interesting things that happened on tours or at the Center put together bi-monthly)
- Architects You Should Know (lesser or well-known, past or present)
- Architectural Styles
- New Developments in the World of Architecture
- Features that mark specific historic milestones or months, (e.g. Women’s History Month in March, 20th anniversary of Millennium Park.)
Your stories inspire lively comments and live on in the archives on Better Impact. Thanks, as always to our many contributors. We hope to hear from more of you in the coming months!
