Dear CAC Volunteer Community
We are committed to ensuring staff and the volunteer community are trained annually in trauma/crisis interventions so you feel safe and informed. During this training you will receive a brief overview of what the Treatment Response Teams is and it’s role within the Cook Co. Sheriff’s office, focus is specifically within the River North Area. Their staff will also train on the most common Substance Abuse/Mental Health issues that you are likely to encounter and what interventions can be employed to de-escalate a situation if/when you encounter someone that is having a substance induced/Mental Health episode. They will also be able to provide information about local service providers that you will be able to refer to.
This is not mandatory but we highly encourage you to attend 1 of the sessions.
