Sally Nochowitz passed away recently. Sally was certified in the Historic Skyscrapers and Modern tours as well as several of our neighborhood offerings. In tandem, Sally and her husband Stan were members of the class of 2000; both retired 2013. Robin Simon, Sally’s certifier, remembers her as very warm person, always offering a big smile. She was rightfully proud of her long and impactful career as an educator. May Sally’s name forever be for a blessing.
And we also lost Polly Sippy in September. A member of the class of 1979, Polly was an instrumental influence on early classes of docents. She was a sponsor and certifier for many incoming docents and chaired DAN multiple years. She was awarded Emeritus status in 2017. Retired docent Jane Lucas recalls that on their meeting, Polly said, “You’ll never forget my name—Mississippi!”—a typical example of Polly’s exuberant personality. May Polly’s name forever be for a blessing.
The circle comes around again! Jill Tanz traveled to Phoenix to enjoy the company of a brand new granddaughter. Talia Grey Tanznelson was born on August 22, 2020. What a delightful bundle she is!
