The Chicago Architecture Center prides itself on excellence. So it’s no surprise to learn that 2017 docent Tom Stelmack , O.D. and FAAO, has been recognized by the American Academy of Optometry as the recipient of one of the most prestigious awards given by that organization. The William Feinbloom Award is a lifetime achievement award for distinguished and significant contribution to clinical excellence. The award recognizes Dr. Stelmack’s contribution and mentorship of post-graduate residency education in optometry. He received the award at the joint American Academy and 3rd World Congress of Optometry meeting on October 26th, 2019.
And Tom is not alone. The AIA Chicago’s Board of Directors has selected John Syvertsen FAIA, to receive the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award. John has distinguished himself as a firm leader, a leader in community outreach, social impact, and environmental sustainability, and through his professorship at colleges and universities across the country. Since 2015 John has dedicated his career in support of several nonprofit organizations. He received this award on October 25 at Designight 2019, celebrating AIA Chicago’s 150th anniversary.
Tom and John, we are all delighted and not at all surprised—congratulations!
These awards are just wonderful! Very proud of you both. Congratulations! 🎉
