Tips & Tricks: Who Runs That Ship … I Mean Tour? Searching on VolunteerMatters

More than 400 people volunteer for the CAC!  They serve in a variety of roles and responsibilities, as well as have different certifications and received different awards and recognitions.  So how do you figure out who does what?

VolunteerMatters to the rescue!  In addition to being our scheduling software, VolunteerMatters is the contact directory for all of the CAC’s volunteers and many of its staff.  You can search by name as well as by volunteer role, committees, tour certifications, awards/recognitions, and many other criteria.

So how do you search via VolunteerMatters? Let’s do a practice run using one of the more frequently asked questions: “How do I find out who is the tour director for a certain tour?”

STEP 1

Once you have logged into VolunteerMatters, click on the “Directory” icon in the main menu bar at the top of the page.

STEP 2

A “Quick Find” search bar for the “Contact Directory” will then appear under the main menu bar. To filter your search by category, click the funnel icon to the right of the “Quick Find.”

STEP 3

When you click on the funnel icon, the “Advanced Filter” feature will appear. The default setting includes all criteria, but if you press the down arrow by “Choose One,” you can select the criteria you want to search for. For this example, let’s choose “Tour Director.”

STEP 4

The screen will automatically populate to show all our tours. It’s a long list, so this is an abbreviated screen clipping.
Check the box of the tour you want, then click the “Add” button at the bottom of the screen.

STEP 5

The next screen will populate with the contact information based on the criteria you selected. Taking you one step closer to finding the answers you need.

So, now you know how to filter and search in VolunteerMatters.

Hope you find this helpful.
