Love and architecture. Many a great architect’s work and life has been influenced by a great, or at least an interesting woman. Did Can you identify the architect, the lady, and the property?

1. “We met when he came to see my father, a very prominent Chicago business man, about designing a new house. I liked the architect more than the house.
Daniel Burnham married Margaret, the daughter of client John B. Sherman.

2. “There was a falling out with the architect over cost overruns. Many people assumed there was a romance of some sort. She said I expected the architect to go along with the house.”
