Dear Docents, Education Guides, Exhibit Hosts, and Guest Services Volunteers,
It’s hard to believe that it’s been over a month since we have last seen each other. This is such a strange and unusual time for everybody. One thing that has remained constant in all of this is your dedication and support to the CAC. Whether it is leading tours and field trips, welcoming guests to the center, sharing insights to our exhibits, or now presenting online, you make the CAC happen. Now more than ever, we are so appreciative of the work you do that makes the CAC and Chicago shine. Our Center comes to life when you are there for our guests and Chicago’s buildings enjoy their stories being passionately told, changing how our guests see the streets and city around them.
This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week and it has been hard to not see all of you to thank you and recognize all your hard work. Though it’s no substitute for thanking you in person, please enjoy this video from CAC staff expressing their gratitude to you, our volunteers.
We will see you again and in the meantime stay safe.
Caroline & Michele
P.S. Education came up with a delightful way to say thank you that I am sure all of you can appreciate.
I Wright this note from my home office as we celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Week. The Education team thinks of you like family…or a Gang, as some might say. Time moves so quickly and we are always in a McCurry, and it’s important to slow down and show our appreciation. The care and dedication you bring to the CAC is the Root of our success and I.M. Pei-ing for the time when we are back in the Center, together. Although the staff is working hard behind the scenes (and sometimes it feels as if we are Burnham-ing the candle at both ends), know that you Kahn Holabird at us anytime! We’d love to hear from you!
We Mies you Gehry much and we look forward to better days, ahead.
Thanks to the punny writer for the education department. And thanks to you all, too.
Thanks for making us feel appreciated in these clever ways!
I can’t believe that you spent the time building this terribly punny framework, knowing that puns are merely the facade of humor. In this time of stress we need some concrete examples of what we can do to buttress our need for greater connection. I truss you’ll improve things in another column.
Love it! 😀 and You’re welcome! You are the best!
Thank you volunteers for indulging me. 😉 Love, AE
This is just fantastic – pictures, puns, video – what a lift to our day!!
