Serve as a Round One Juror for the CAC/AIA Chicago Inaugural People’s Choice Awards – due August 9

Hello CAC Docents.

Greetings from AIA Chicago. We are so pleased to announce that we are partnering with CAC this fall to co-present the inaugural People’s Choice Awards for the “best of” architectural projects by Chicago architects.

We need your help! With your passion and knowledge of the built environment, we’re asking CAC docents to serve as Round One judges for projects submitted by Chicago architectural firms.

We ask you to please follow this guide:

Docents with last names A – M:
Review/vote on categories: Office; Tall Buildings; Civic; Community and Cultural

Docents with last names N – Z:
Review/vote on categories Single Family Housing; Education; Hospitality and Retail; Multi-Family Housing

To get started with the Round One voting:
visit https://aiachicago.awardsplatform.com for complete instructions and to review the projects.

Deadline
Docent Round One voting closes August 9, 2022 at 5pm (central).

Round Two voting will open to the public in mid-August, using the narrowed list of your collective top-ranked buildings in each of the eight categories. (You are also welcome to vote in Round Two with the public.)

Please also save the date for Designight 2022 – a live ceremony hosted by architectural enthusiast Peter Sagal, of NPR’s Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me – at Millennium Park’s Pritzker Pavilion on September 12, 2022.

For the first time, Designight 2022 will be a free public awards event where everyone is welcome. The People’s Choice Award winners will be announced live that evening along with Design Excellence Awards and the Lifetime Achievement Award. We hope to see you there!

Reach out to in**@ai********.org with any questions.

Thank you for helping us kick off the inaugural People’s Choice Awards in partnership with CAC.
