Reminder: Info Session On Developing New Tours – Feb 20

It’s not too late to register for the Tour Committee’s information session on how to develop a new tour. This session will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, February 20th at 5:30 pm. Docents who have created some of our most popular tours will be on hand to share their experience and answer questions. If you haven’t developed a tour before, we strongly encourage you to attend. We hope you can attend live so your specific questions can be addressed, but the session will be recorded. CLICK HERE TO RSVP to attend or request a link to the recording if you can’t attend live.

Also, remember that the Tour Committee and Tour Roster Task Force are calling for proposals for a limited number of new walking and bus tours to launch in 2025.

If you have been thinking about a theme that hasn’t been explored, a group of buildings, or a neighborhood that isn’t covered, submit a proposal for a new tour. This preliminary proposal is just a high-level concept – you don’t need to have all the details worked out. While all proposals will receive serious consideration, only a few can be approved for development. Proposals that identify the likely audiences they would appeal to, and that distinguish themselves from existing tours, will be viewed most favorably.

CLICK HERE for the online proposal form. If you have more than one tour idea, submit a separate response for each one.

The deadline for proposals is June 1, 2024.  You will be notified by mid-August of the Tour Roster Task Force and Tour Committee’s decision. If your concept is approved, you will have until the first week of December to develop the details, prepare a manual, and conduct a demonstration tour. The Tour Committee will approve new tours at its December meeting. The tours will begin in the new tour season that starts April 1, 2025.

If you have any questions, please contact either of the Tour Committee Co-Chairs, Steve Redfield (st**************@gm***.com) or Jessica Williams (je*********@co*****.net).
