Summer’s Awesome Awakening. There is no doubting the challenges we have faced over the past three months, full of unexpected turns. It has tested our levels of courage, endurance, ingenuity, and hope. We have sacrificed a lot of Chicago treasures we normally take for granted – our lakefront, our river walk, our top-notch restaurants, and our summer festivals. And our tours! But, as things slowly begin to open again, they feel fresh, new, and so appreciated. It’s like tasting a sweet treat we gave up during a long diet; it has never tasted so delicious. The photos in today’s collection scan a variety of treats – the return of boats to their harbors, outdoor diners to their favorite restaurants, and outdoor enthusiasts to their beloved lakefront. Simple pleasures at their best.
