For the Birds. For the past 25 years, I have taught the summer session at Interlochen Arts Camp. I always feel I enjoy the best of both worlds – my city fix for one half of the summer, and my nature fix for the other. Like so many other glorious programs, Interlochen was cancelled due to the pandemic. So now, I am looking for nature right here amidst the skyscrapers. It turns out there are treasures to be found, especially during the bird migration season. I hear birds I have not heard before; and sadly, I sometimes find stunned or dead little ones who thought a city window was the sky. But I am always glad I live in a city that values green spaces, and whose backdrop is an endless water view. So today, I celebrate the little ones who find this urban mecca worthy of a visit. You might just say this Photo Corner is “for the birds.”to view.
