The Communications Committee has been given the go-ahead to continue with our program of monthly docent presentations on topics of architectural interest.,
.
For the past year or so, on the fourth Wednesday of each month, docents presented a broad range of programming to our CAC audience. “River Cruise – Deep Dives,” Art Deco spectaculars, Chicago libraries, churches, stained glass windows, Red Line designs, Dwight Perkins and schools and more – these Zoom meetings drew audiences of over 100 viewers each month. We reached people from around the city and throughout the country who love to hear about architectural successes, failures, history, interesting characters and all points in between. The presentations have been fascinating, broad ranging, and related to CAC’s mission of engaging our audience to learn why design matters.
With the 2023 calendar wide open, the committee is seeking docents and volunteers interested in presenting a topic for a 45 minute PowerPoint or Keynote Zoom presentation, with 15 minutes available for audience questions.
.
Share your interest with the rest of us. Is it something you’ve researched? Or, do you want to share a tour you give – or would like to give? What can you talk about?
If you are interested, please submit your name and topic to Ellen Shubart, es******@ao*.com or Leslie Clark Lewis, le**************@co*****.net. We will be happy to provide you with editorial and photographic guidelines (good news – the photo guidelines have been relaxed over the past year, making it easier to complete your slides) as well as offer support and aid for presenting.
Let us hear from you – submit your ideas now for 2023. Thank you for considering!
