Kudos – August 2020

Dan Fitzgerald, 1995
The River Cruise is a wonderful way to spend an hour and a half seeing the beautiful river fronts and architecture of Chicago. Our experience was that the operator nicely socially distanced all of the guests. The volunteer docent named Dan was an exceptional tour guide and the experience could not have possibly been better. – David Marino La Jolla, California

Steve Gersten,  2003
Today was the very first River Cruise tour for our newest vessel, Chicago’s Emerald Lady and we had Barry Butler (you may know him, he’s a popular, local photographer) aboard to do some fun things on social media. I just wanted to let you know that he texted me after the cruise and was SO impressed with the docent that led the tour. Truly raved about him and said how “incredible” he was in that he didn’t take a break from speaking for the entire cruise and that he was just mesmerizing to listen to. It’s worth noting that Barry has been on the cruise (not exaggerating) probably about 50 times or so. – Alex Heffner

Judith Kaufman, 2010
This River Cruise boat ride was one of the highlights of our trip. Our tour guide (Judith, I think) was spectacular, knowledgeable and entertaining speaker and everyone in the crew was very professional. The tour information is well researched and high quality covering an overview of many buildings from various time periods and styles and the general history of Chicago. Plus, lots of interesting stories sprinkled in. – mishmash 1  Cincinnati, Ohio

Leanne Star, 2011
Just wanted to write and say thank you to Leanne, the docent who led the Northwestern tour I attended today. It was very informative, and Leanne was extremely enthusiastic about sharing details and answering questions. I enjoyed the tour very much! Thanks – Rashmi

Congratulations to the kudos receivers above and to all my colleagues who are bravely giving cruises and leading tours during these trying times. And belated kudos to Constance Rajala for leading our scintillating Northwestern tour last weekend. We walk the campus regularly, and Andy is a Kellogg alum. So we’ve seen it all before. But now, armed with some great stories and interesting architectural information, we’re able to enjoy our neighborhood campus with new eyes. Well done!
