Loop as Lab-A Few Spots Still Left!

June 20 and June 29-Loop as Lab

New Tour: Special Offer for Volunteers – Loop As A Lab

What do the DuSable Bridge, Illinois Center, and Block 37 have in common? They all began as part of a city plan. There is a new exhibit at CAC — the Loop as Lab. The Tour Committee has developed a tour to accompany the exhibit and give an on-the-street look at city planning. Chicago was a planned city from its very beginning in 1830. City planning has shaped Chicago’s growth from 1909 through to the downtown plan currently in development. The tour walks you through six different city plans, showing the successes and failures, what resulted and what never came to be. What has city planning done for Chicago? Take this tour and decide for yourself.

The 90-minute tour is being offered as a volunteers-only experience on June 20, Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. and June 29, Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Space is limited. Register here.
