Heads Up – Chicago Cultural Center Closed September 12-18

In preparation for the upcoming Chicago Architecture Biennial, the Chicago Cultural Center will be closed to the public from September 12th through the 18th. No tours will be allowed in the building.

As on other days when the Cultural Center is closed, Historic Treasures docents will expand their discussions in Macy’s on State. Fortunately, there are additional features to highlight there, including the north light well, the recently-relocated fountain , first floor annex detailing, and other original design elements. Docents may elect to leave Macy’s via the Randolph Street exit and make their way to the next stop, the interior of the St. Jane Chicago (Carbide and Carbon Building).

The biennial, entitled … And Other Such Stories, will run from September 19, 2019 through January 5, 2020.
