Dear CAC Docents and Volunteers,
Happy Thanksgiving! This year, I have a lot to be thankful for, and I am very grateful for all of you. Starting a new job is always a little nerve-racking – and coming all the way from Florida to be here, I was pretty nervous – but thanks to you all I have had such a pleasant experience! I really can’t thank you enough for being so welcoming from the very beginning and continuing to make me feel at home months into the job. I truly enjoy chatting with you all when you pass my desk and appreciate every time someone stops by “just to say hi!” or ask me how I’m settling in.
It has really been a joy to get to meet and know you. What better way to orient myself to my new city than to be surrounded by folks like you who love Chicago and love sharing that passion? Though I will always be a Floridian at heart, I feel I have become more and more of a Chicagoan each day with the insider knowledge you have imparted upon me. Thanks for all your advice on restaurants to try, places to visit, and most importantly, the elements of the perfect winter coat!
I am so happy to come to work every day because I am lucky enough to work with such a committed bunch of volunteers here at the CAC. When I started, I was instantly astounded at how passionate and professional you all are, and continue to be blown away by all the incredible work that you do. The work that you put in is truly impressive and we cannot thank you enough for all that you do.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and take the time to celebrate what you are thankful for, while keeping in mind that here at the CAC, we are all so thankful for YOU!
With gratitude,
Michele
Michele….welcome and yes, we do like what we do!! Now that you are in IL, you can get to use to all of our crazy politics as your diversion vs. all the crazy stuff that takes place in Florida.
Take care….John Perrecone
Michele—how quickly you hav taken on the myriad of tasks that make up your work day. I’m sure I speak for many when I thank you for your quiet competence and attention to detail. Fall in love with Chicago!! Diane Wagner
And we are thankful for you!!!
Hello Michele–Thank you for being so accommodating and helpful with all the details that make our ability to be decent docents possible. I hope that you have a lovely Thanksgiving, too. Margaret Newman
