All Docents giving in-person tours during the 2020 season:
Fantastic docents. I took a membership this summer and don’t regret it at all !. I definitely recommend the CAC tours if you’re a new Chicago resident or you’re a tourist in the windy city. All the tours I did were amazing even if we’re not allowed to enter buildings for now (because of covid-19). And Thank you to all the docents for sharing their knowledge with us. – Héléna K
Cynthia Bates, 2016
I attended the 1pm River Cruise tour today with Cynthia and the tour was lovely just like herself. I’m a Chicago resident and was fascinated by all the Chicago history I was missing out on all these years. It was quite charming to hear how Cynthia related back some of the buildings to her personal life. Awesome how she used to live in Lake Point Tower! My family used to live in River City, so it was great learning about the architecture behind it all. Thanks again! – Alex
Joan Winstein, 2012
Truly couldn’t be happier with the River Cruise experience. Got super lucky with the weather…not often shorts are worn aboard their tours in Nov, no doubt! The Information shared by the docent (a volunteer from the Chicago Architecture Center) was impressive and took the visual beauty of the skyscrapers to an even higher level! Thanks, Joan, for your knowledge & passion. Money well spent!!
Lance Friedman 2015, Alison Schlickman, 2015, Kelly Jones, 2016, Wayne Johnson, 2016
Kudos, Cheers and congrats. You guys did a great job. (This was the Revitalized: What’s New and Cool on the River – OHC Virtual Presentation.) I learned a lot and thought the presentation arrangement with four people talking, taking questions and moving on was just great. Thanks for a wonderful hour on the river. – Ellen

Great job Lance, Alison, Kelly and Wayne. You did us all proud! (This was the Revitalized: What’s New and Cool on the River – OHC Virtual Presentation.) Bet you got lots of kudos. Thanks for a great presentation. – Bobbi
Judith Kaufman, 2010
Gave it 5 stars because of Judith the speaker was awesome. The River Cruise tour for itself was great, lots to see and learn in the canal and Judith explained everything. – Titan813, Tampa, Florida
Jack Kremers, 2013
The doorman in my building took his family, visiting from Mexico, on the River Cruise and it was the highlight of their visit to Chicago. He said, “We LOVED it! The history! The buildings! The views! The guide! It was great!!” I have never, ever seen him so excited about anything. So kudos to Jack Kremers, who gave the tour on that sunny Saturday.
Ross Wirth, 2019
Ross was a great tour guide for the A Walk Through Time tour and was willing to answer lots of questions we had about buildings that were not part of the official walk-through time tour. And every time we asked a question about a different building, he knew about it. Very knowledgeable. They are handling things well during Covid. I’m definitely coming back for more tours! – malamb86
This is so inspiring. Congratulations to all of the excellent docents who continue to inform, entertain and impress attendees even in these times! Way to represent CAC.
Fellow docents are hearty creatures! They deliver no matter what conditions are thrown at them! More than just rain or shine! Bravo! Can’t wait to get back on the streets in 2021.
