Don’t Miss the Updated 2021 Tour Guidelines

Must Read –Updated 2021 Tour Guidelines

Docent leadership and staff members recently met to discuss what tour guidelines might change – and what will remain the same – as we move further into the busy tour season.

  • The GTS system will be back with us soon. Guests will be provided with single-use headphones. Docents may use the GTS system’s microphones, which will be cleaned after use; or they may use their personal mics. We will let you know when the system is ready for use.
  • On tours leaving from the center, there will be an increase in the number guest tickets sold to 10 once the CAC staff receives the single use head phones. Since some of our members no-show, offering additional slots will make it more likely that a docent will have at least six or more tourees per tour. As the season continues, the number will raise from 10 to 12-15 as we have had in previous years.
  • Until further notice, our safety protocols will remain:
  • Docents and guests will continue to wear masks on all tours. The only exception is that River Cruise docents may wear only their shields when at the microphone. At all other times, their masks must be on.
  • Social distancing will still be required.
  • We will remain outside for now (which means no interiors). Going back into buildings isn’t as simple as you might think. While some building managers will welcome outside visitors, others will not. We also want consistency across our tours before going into building interiors.  Staff will contact building management for permission.

As the city continues to reopen, it is likely that we’ll have additional changes as time goes on. Stay tuned!
