Here is the second installment of Docent Council committee reports highlighting their third quarter accomplishments. Education and Library Committees were featured on The Bridge in October.
STANDARDS COMMITTEE – The committee has been working towards a standard size of nine members. To that end, to keep membership fresh, two long term docents are rotating off to be replaced by new members. They are also emphasizing enhancing staff and docent relations and promoting core values. In addition, there will be increased communication with staff to identify and clarify appropriate staff to go to for assistance. Complaints have been resolved in a timely manner with docent and staff input.
ENRICHMENT COMMITTEE – The committee planned site visits to Austin neighborhood, and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District in Stickney (these events have already taken place). There are also proposed visits to Lawson House Apartments, a YMCA renovation, which will open in 2024. Bagley House, a FLW design in Hinsdale, is also being considered for a visit. Enrichment is investigating arranging a Zoom presentation by Related Midwest about new projects along the river.
