Official Launch:
We will use Better Impact officially for the October tours release on August 10th at 9:30am (one week later than usual). VolunteerMatters will continue to be used up until the end of September tours, after we will solely be using Better Impact going forward.
Reminder for DOCENTS- You may sign up for a maximum of four tours in the new month*. You are limited to two of the same tour in the new month. For example, if you are certified in Walk Through Time and Elevated Architecture, you can sign up for 2 Walk Through Times and 2 Elevated in the month of October.
River Cruise docents may sign up for a maximum of four (4) cruises in the new month, or may split their four-tour quota between the River Cruise and other tours. They are subject to the two-tour limit for non-river tours in the month that just opened.
Remember – the two of the same tour rule only applies to October signups. It is still open season for August and September, so you can sign up for as many open tours as you wish in VolunteerMatters. Open Season for October starts on Saturday, August 24th.
For all other volunteer roles – Education Guides, Exhibit Hosts, and Guest Services, you may schedule 4 shifts in the new month for each role.
Be sure to check the start times of your scheduled tours. You can remove yourself from any shift more than 30 days in the future. If a shift is less than 24 hours away, it will be locked. I tried logging in with my VM username and password, but that does not seem to be recognized. Is there a place to create a new login for Better Impact?

I had the same experience as Michael. Tried logging in with the user name and PW sent to me. Did not work. So hope we will get more clear instructions going forward.
Hi Howard – if your password began with two carats, please ignore those and use only the remaining characters as the password. If you’re still having trouble, please join an office hour session. Next week’s hours will be published shortly.

I was able to get into the site but only one of my numerous tour were listed. My remaining August tours and September tours do not appear on my “upcoming tours”.
We are using VolunteerMatters system and schedule until Sept 30th. After we will be using Better Impact’s system. Tours for Aug and Sept were not transferred over. You are welcome to sign up for the same tours in Better Impact but please note we are using VM until Sept 30th.
