Arch Madness Week 1

College basketball’s March Madness is not happening this year, but here at the CAC, we thought it would be fun to have a little “Arch Madness!” to have some competition with architecture.

We have created a bracket of 32 of Chicago’s top buildings for our CAC docent and volunteer body to vote on! A big shoutout to Adam Rubin, Director of Interpretation, for selecting the buildings and their matchups.

In the next few weeks, we will crown one Chicago building as the Arch Madness champion.

How does it work? Each week, we will vote on building matchups. This first week, there are 16 matchups to get the 32 buildings whittled down to the top 16. The updated bracket will be posted next Tuesday afternoon, and then voting will commence for the Top 8, Final 4, Top 2, and finally our winning building!

Click here to vote on the first round of buildings!

You can view and download the full bracket here to keep track of your picks and see how your bracket matches up with the votes. Make sure you click “Download” to access the PDF and fill in your choices.

This is creative and funny. And it actually helps me because I’m not a sports fan at all (I get so much flak as a Chicagoan, lol). I always hear of March Madness but I have no idea how it works. Architecture motivates enough of an interest for me to give this pop culture institution a try.

    Thanks for coordinating,
