Emily Clott, 2012
On Day 1, we took the River Cruise and had a fantastic time. Our guide, Emily, was extremely knowledgeable and easy to listen to. She provided us with both historical facts and anecdotes of the events and times. It is highly informative and a great way to plan what buildings to discover in-depth later.

Delta Greene, 2008
Excellent Elevated Architecture tour, very informative and absolutely wonderful guide!

Henry Kuehn, 1974
Took the Highlights by Bus tour which included stops at the Rookery, Robie House, IIT campus, Lake Michigan, University of Chicago, Bronzeville and Gold Coast neighborhoods. Well worth every penny. Docent volunteer Henry knew everything about every building, and answered every question while driver Manny expertly maneuvered our bus through congested streets. Five stars. – Doris M.

Paul Meyers, 2009, and Barbara Weiner, 2011
The Treasures and Historic Skyscrapers tours made my weekend! I learned so much. Both Paul and Barbara have great knowledge, wonderful people skills, and made me want to do all your tours. Thank you!

Bob Michaelson, 2010, and Peter Weil, 2015
The Fall 2016 issue of the University of Chicago Alumni Magazine notes in the 1966 Alumni News section: “Your class correspondent, Dick Lyford, AB’66, reports that the 50th reunion had about 90 people in attendance. The campus architectural tours led by Robert C. Michaelson, SB’66, AM’73, and Peter Weil, AB’66, PhD’75, were terrific. The highlight of the tours for me was the spectacular new building replacing Pierce Tower. Bob said you could have your name on it for a mere $50 million. … ”

Editor’s Note: Bob and Peter are both docents on the University of Chicago Neighborhood tour.

Tony Sergen, 2012
If you are interested in brilliant design and architecture, historical facts, craft beer and are willing to spend a memorable afternoon, the Near North Pub Tour is for you. Our docent Tony was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with. He revealed places and stories behind the scenes which will never be forgotten. You will also discover why design matters. Highly recommended!

Wesley Quevedo, 2016
I did a walking tour of the Evolution of the Skyscraper. The guide, Wesley, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and drew everyone in the small group into the conversation. Not only did we learn a lot about the buildings, but the tour set me on my way to find out more about other Chicago buildings. Great value and enjoyable.

Rebecca Trumbull, 2011
I’m sure the River Cruise is always good but wow – we hit the jackpot with the docent, Becky! It was astounding how knowledgeable she was, and the amount of information I learned in 90 minutes was thrilling. I was with my preteen children and they enjoyed it as much as I did. I can’t imagine a better way to both see and learn about this fascinating and gorgeous city. What a treat!

Barbara Weiner, 2011
Wonderful, knowledgeable, entertaining, excellent Treasures of Culture and Commerce tour.
