April signups will be available by 9:30 am this Saturday, February 4th. A friendly reminder that opening the shifts is a manual process. If a certain calendar is not open, please just refresh your page or wait a minute. If you look aghead in the calendar, you will see that we only have April-May built out. We are in the process of reviewing the June-October schedule and working with the needed committees to make this amenable for all.
Reminder for DOCENTS- From the first Saturday of each month until the 3rd Saturday of each month, you may sign up for a maximum of four tours in the new month*. You are limited to two of the same tour in the new month. For example, if you are certified in Historic Treasures and Elevated Architecture, you can sign up for 2 Historic Treasures and 2 Elevated in the month of October.
River Cruise docents may sign up for a maximum of four (4) cruises in the new month, or may split their four-tour quota between the River Cruise and other tours. They are subject to the two-tour limit for non-river tours in the month that just opened.
Remember – the two of the same tour rule applies to April signups. It is still open season for February and March, so you can sign up for as many open tours as you wish. From the 3rd Saturday of the month until the start of the next scheduling window, you may schedule as many shifts as you wish (open season). Open Season starts on Saturday, February 18th.
NOTE for Historic Treasures, Mag Mile, and What’s New Docents: Be sure to try and sign up for tours this month if available. We are currently training the new class who will begin certifying for these tours in the month of April. New docents will be certified for Historic Treasures by April 28th; Historic Treasures departures will be reserved for the new class in May, June, and July. What’s New and Mag Mile certifications will be completed by June 13th; departures for these tours will be reserved throughout June and August. All Private departures for these tours will only be available to current docents, and not trainees.
For all other volunteer roles – Education Guides, Exhibit Hosts, and Guest Services, you may schedule 4 shifts in the new month for each role.
Be sure to check the start times of your scheduled tours. The automatic reminders you get include both a start and end time. You can remove yourself from any shift more than 30 days in the future. If a shift is less than 24 hours away, it will be locked. Please email Lexie at ao****@ar**********.org if you wish to sign up for a shift that is less than 24 hours away. You can access VolunteerMatters here: http://cacthebridge1966.com.
If you are participating in a CAC event, meeting, or tour during the sign up time, you can email Lexie to sign you up early.
