Architecture & Design Film Fest

This February 1-5, the CAC will be transforming our galleries into a temporary cineplex and welcoming the New York City-based Architecture & Design Film Festival back to Chicago for the first time in over 6 years.

Come join us for this festive celebration for the design-minded. From creative explorations of fascinating architects like Winy Maas and Geoffrey Bawa, to celebrations in artmaking from Marimekko to street art, to the behind-the-scenes drama in everything from contemporary design competitions to community preservation movements, there is something on view for most everyone.

The line-up includes 15 feature films and a dozen film shorts from all across the world, each sharing a unique story of innovation and sustainability in architecture, design and fashion. The Skyscraper Gallery and Lecture Hall will be used to showcase the feature films, and the transformation from gallery into theatre will be fun to see! All short films will run on a continuous loop downstairs in the Chicago Gallery, free and open to all Film Fest attendees and Center visitors, while the Design Store will feature concession items for film-goers.
