The antics of Captain George Washington “Cap,” Streeter, the development of land originally used for factories and train yards, and the involvement of major city developers, Streeterville has it all.
If you missed the unveiling of the 38-minute documentary “The History of South Streeterville,” presented by the Enrichment Committee on Jan. 18, you can catch the film on Youtube.
The documentary, created by historian and sculptor Dennis Downes and real estate expert Gail Spreen, is the story of the rise of Streeterville, the affluent neighborhood we know today, from the “wasteland” that was the legacy of the 1800s.
Spend a worthwhile 40 minutes enjoying the film, which is sure to inform and enrich any tours that relate to this area.
