My husband Bob and I took the trip of a lifetime in January, 2022, to our seventh continent, Antarctica. We travelled with National Geographic/Lindblad on the NG Resolution, a brand-new, incredible ship designed for travel in polar waters. The trip lasted 10 days including travel to and from Ushuia, Argentina. Because of the pandemic, we joined our group “bubble” in Miami and took a charter flight to Argentina. Once we boarded our ship, we headed out to cross the Drake Passage and were incredibly lucky to have good weather and calm seas for both crossings. Our first stop was south of the Antarctic Circle, and we spent five amazing days exploring the creatures and landscape of the Antarctic Peninsula.
The wildlife was awesome — we saw three species of penguins (Adelie, Gentoo, and Chinstrap); three species of whales (Orca, Humpback, and Minke); four species of seals (Elephant, Weddell, Leopard, and Crabeater) and dozens of other birds including skuas, terns, gulls, petrels, and albatross. But the real star of Antarctica is the incredible ice and the stark black and white landscape. This was the best trip we have ever taken!

Wow! If it’s half as beautiful as the picture is was, indeed, the trip of a lifetime!
