Photo Features, August 2022 – Chicago Photos On-The-Go

Chicago Photos On-The-Go
.

I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures of urban scenes.  Back when I had to think about how many shots were left on the camera, I took lots of city scenes while on vacation and a few when not traveling. Ever since the camera and cell phone have merged, I may take several pictures a week just while living my everyday life in the very-photogenic, or should I say Instagrammable, city of Chicago.  Of course as a long-time docent I naturally look up (and sometimes down) at things that most people probably take for granted.  Although this tail-end Baby Boomer is not on Instagram, I am active on Facebook where many of my friends appreciate my assortment of both iconic and unusual scenes.  I think my “Facebook photo fans” fall into 3 main groups:  other CAC docents, residents/fans of big cities and people who find big cities a bit exotic but could never live in one.  For that third group I’d like to think I’ve changed a few minds and have at least gotten a few people to visit Chicago in person.
