Tour for 60 Galileo Scholastic Academy students: Thanks so much for an absolutely wonderful trip. I hope your docents enjoyed it as well. I was so proud to see our students share all that they know. I think there are some future architects among them. This was my first field trip in three years. What a great way to get back to it! – Karen Van Zytveld
Emily Clott 2012
Great photo opportunities throughout the River Cruise trip. The best photo opp was when the boat when out almost to the lake and turned around, giving a view back towards the skyline. Our guide, Emily, was fantastic – very knowledgeable and a very good public speaker, which isn’t easy to do for 90 minutes or so! – mrjobs2016 Peabody, Massachusetts

We had a great Walk Through Time tour led by Mitch. He gave a really good overview of Chicago’s history and then pointed out throughout the tour how Chicago’s architecture was influenced by the events of history. Very informative and highly recommended. One of the highlights had to be the art deco lobby of the Hampton Inn (who would have thought? – Larry L
Wayne Shapiro, 2020
My partner and I went on the Must See Chicago tour with Wayne as our guide. This was a great experience, very educational and interesting. This was our first of four days in Chicago and was a first class introduction to the architecture of Chicago. Wayne was most engaging and informative throughout the 90 minutes with a very pleasant manner. The organization and logistics before the tour and on arrival at the CAC were excellent as was the delivery by Wayne. We have no hesitation in recommending this tour. – Donncha Cork, Ireland
Matt Sheffer, 2019
We loved the Elevated Architecture: Downtown ‘L’ Train tour! As Chicagoans, we experienced our city’s architecture from a new perspective! Our tour guide, Matt was excellent and shared facts, views and stories that added to the fun of the tour. Seeing buildings from the L provided us with a new view of the details and structures of many of the buildings. Loved being able to stop at the stations and enjoy the sites. Again, we grew up in Chicago, rode the L many times and never appreciated the history and views as we did on the tour. Having the provided earbuds and device to hear the guide is a nice touch so that you don’t miss a fact or conversation. Thank you, Matt and CAC for this wonderful experience! – CJ M
Ellen Shubart, 2006
Ellen was extremely knowledgeable about everything we covered in the Must See Chicago tour- you could tell she knew all of the details and hadn’t just memorized the script. I live in Chicago and still found the tour exciting so I’d recommend to both Chicagoans and tourists alike. – Nick B
Gary Wenzel, 2016
We were part of a sold-out River Cruise on a nice spring Saturday morning and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our guide, Gary, provided a mixture of informative commentary with humorous observations as we cruised the river. Great opportunities for those who like to photograph their journeys. Craig J
Jessica Williams, 2017
I highly recommend the tour of the Old Post Office. Not only is the building stunning, but I learned so much about the history of Chicago. Also, you get to see parts of the building, like the roof top garden, not open to the public. Shout out to Jessica, who was a knowledgeable guide and could answer all our questions. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Ross Wirth, 2019
Wonderful overview of some interesting buildings on the Walk Through Time tour. Well paced and the guide Ross, told lots of interesting stories. You don’t have to love architecture to enjoy this tour.
