Join us at Noon on December 16 for a special program with famed German architect and engineer Werner Sobek, held in connection with the Helmut Jahn exhibition. Sobek will reflect on his 27-year partnership and friendship with Jahn and the pair’s influential approach to collaborative design, dubbed “Archi-Neering.” This process enabled great leaps in high-performance architecture. Sobek called Chicago home for 15 years (residing at the Hancock) and taught at IIT for several of those years. During this stretch he and Jahn worked on such buildings as State Street Village, 600 North Fairbanks and Mansueto Library. Internationally, they partnered on iconic projects like Sony Center and Post Tower among many others. Professor Donna Robertson, former Dean of Architecture at IIT, joins Sobek in conversation.
