Hello Docents, Education Guides, Exhibit Hosts, and Guest Services Volunteers-
Please read the entire message as there is important information for everyone!
First-I will be out of town Saturday, June 5th so I will open August calendars on Friday June 4 by 8am (a long drive to Arcadia, MI awaits).
Guest Services-Shifts are available so please sign up! Now that GTS is back in use and with limited box office staff, we are especially in need of your help. Shifts are from 10:30-2 but if you can’t make the entire time, just let me know. Box Office staff will certainly appreciate the time that you can give.
Exhibit Hosts-We are still scheduling only 1 per shift. Please feel free to take a lunch break as needed. If I see that all shifts are filled and you are wanting more, I will add more slots. If you missed the refresher session last week, there is a link in another Announcement on The Bridge.
Education Guides- field trips are being scheduled but it is a slow start. We will keep you posted!
Docents-READ CAREFULLY.
Walking Tours-Our normal guidelines limit to 2 tours in the the new month but even with increased departure and capacity, there are still far less departures in August than in a normal year. Please only take one walking tour and wait a few days before signing up for a second. I am relying on the honor system right now. Let’s give everyone who is ready to give tours a chance to sign up.
REMEMBER: WTT, Icons, and Must-See tours will only be available to our the 2020 class this first week. I will make the remaining departures available to you on June 11. Private tours are always available to you as they are scheduled. August is likely the last month I will hold tours for the 2020 class.
River Cruises-Our normal guidelines state up to 4 cruises in the new month but again there are far fewer opportunities readily available. Just be courteous and mindful. I understand there are eager docents but new cruises are still being added on a weekly basis. You can check VM often if you didn’t quite get your fill this first time around (10ams and 10:30s are sometimes these later adds). The new class will also be signing up for tours too.
2020 Docent Class-I am sending you a separate email with instructions! You will be signing up for WTT and either Must-See or Chicago Icons.
