Caroline is Back and VM Scheduling Begins at 9:30am Saturday!

Hello Docents and Volunteers –

I am back in the office and ready to hit the ground running with opening tours for signups. While there are still some restrictions and limited tours, I would like to get back to our normal scheduling system. So to get us back on track, I will be opening two months this Saturday.

DOCENTS:

MAY and JUNE signups will be available by 9:30 am this Saturday, April 10. A friendly reminder that opening the shifts is a manual process. If a certain calendar is not open, please refresh your page or wait a minute.  JULY scheduling will be available on Saturday, MAY 1.

Walking Tours departing from the CAC -Historic Treasures, WTT, Must-See, Mid-Century Modern, and Chicago Icons. You may sign up for two (2) tours TOTAL in May and June. Tours are still VERY LIMITED, so we will see how things fill up with this initial sign up and adjust as needed. Be kind. This is the first time we’ve opened tours like this in over a year.

NOTE-JUNE WTT will be on hold for the new docent training class. Any private departures will be available for current docents as they are scheduled.

River Cruise docents may sign up for a maximum of four (4) cruises TOTAL  in May and June. Keep in mind that some June cruises will stay locked for the new trainees. CFL has confirmed this schedule through November BUT new cruises will likely to be added weekly.

Open Season starts on Saturday, April 17. From the 3rd Saturday of the month until the start of the next scheduling window, you may schedule as many shifts as you wish.

VOLUNTEERS:

Education Guides – No field trips yet but stay tuned for opportunities.

Exhibit Hosts – We are anticipating a return to the gallery May 22 but please stay tuned.

Guest Services – Unfortunately, we are still not able to use our GTS devices. Contact me if you are interested in other ways to get involved.

Everyone – Be sure to check the start times of your scheduled tours and shifts. The automatic reminders you get include both a start and end time. You can remove yourself from any tour or shift more than 30 days in the future. If a tour/shift is less than 24 hours away, it will be locked.

Here’s to a great 2021 tour season!
