Core Values ShoutOuts – April 2020

Lisa Ciota, Exhibit Host, Education Guide, and Docent Class of 2020 Trainee – Collaboration and Continued Learning
Lisa has done an absolutely fantastic job of making sure that content posted on The Bridge is relevant to our CAC volunteers. Since joining the Communications Committee last year, she has assigned – or written herself – feature articles on volunteer activities and programs, student activities, tours and trips, and volunteer profiles. Her work certainly contributes to our “One Team.” Lisa is an education guide and is currently a docent-in-training. A huge thank you, Lisa! – Leslie Clark Lewis

Gloria Hinrichs, Class of 2016 – Collaboration
Gloria did everything she could to work with all of us who had signed up for the Docent NoLa trip. She was constantly offering alternatives and, finally, negotiated a complete refund. Way over and above! – Bobbi Pinkert

Education Committee – Collaboration
The EC is doing terrific work adapting the 2020 training so quickly in response to the circumstances. – Jean Schlinkmann

Michele Kuhn, CAC Staff – Collaboration
Michele began and is running the Arch Madness. Lots of fun, keeps docents engaged, a good activity for all of us – Ellen Shubart

Leslie Clark Lewis, Class of 2009 – Continued Learning
A dynamo who is working on new communications and Zoom projects for CACLive, CAC@Home and the Bridge – Ellen Shubart

Ellen Shubart, Class of 2006 – Collaboration and Continued Learning
Ellen has done a fantastic job of helping to get CAC Live off the ground. After receiving the request from staff, she quickly recruited docents to present live content, organized the calendar, worked with staff for rehearsals, and found even more presenters when it was determined that the series would run longer than planned. She is a great communicator and keeps everyone involved with the program – staff and docents – up to date. Kudos, four stars and a big thumbs up for Ellen. – Leslie Clark Lewis

Lorie Westerman, Class of 2006 and Guest Services – Respect and Integrity
Lorie Westerman is the Tour Director for both of the Pedway tours. This year we came within 3 tourists of having 1,000 guests on our tours ! After the season ends (the tours only run in the winter months), Lorie organizes a lunch, and writes personalized thank you notes to us all (she also gives out small tokens of her appreciation, which is way “above and beyond” IMHO!). It is thoughtful and shows how much she values docents. (Full disclosure: I’m a co-tour director of another tour and we are going to incorporate this idea; it’s a wonderful way to acknowledge everyone.) – Joan Winstein
