Dear CAC Volunteers,
I hope you are hanging in there in these uncertain times. We are excited at the CAC that we finally have an institutional ZOOM account and can now see each other. That is how we found out that Michael Malak our VP of Operations had not shaved for 13 days!
I think we are all realizing that this shutdown is going to go on for a quite a while. We are now preparing for what this means to our staff and volunteers and how do we ensure the long term stability of the CAC. We have been anxiously following the latest stimulus bill and are happy that today it passed the House. Like many of the other cultural institutions we are awaiting the details of the legislation as it relates to not-for-profit organizations and their employees.
This week we issued our first edition of CAC@HOME. We will continue to expand it and offer video content (both existing and new) for programs and education. We have a task force of docents who are working on creating “online” tours. Also we are recruiting docents to write neighborhood columns like the one below that I wrote about my daily “Cabin Fever” walk through West Loop. We want to continue to keep you engaged with us so if you have ideas please reach out to Caroline or Michelle to share.
In the meantime, stay safe and open your windows to hear the robins who have returned. Their wonderful song gives us something to look forward to.
Regards,
Lynn
