Greetings fellow volunteers,
As February blows into Chicago on freezing cold temps, it is easy to stay inside where it is cozy and warm. However, what warms my heart is getting out to CAF and spending time with the wonderful volunteers, docents and staff! So it is with a bittersweet feeling that I am writing my last Bridge article as Chair of the Volunteer Steering Committee but…I am thrilled to introduce the NEW Chair of the Volunteer Steering Committee – Bob Sutter!
Thank you Bob, for stepping up and committing to lead all volunteers during this exciting time at CAF. My time as chair was wonderful but after two years, per the VEV Articles of Operations, it is time for a new Chair.
The number of meetings requiring my attendance will be reduced but I won’t stray far during the coming months! I encourage my fellow volunteers to attend monthly Volunteer Committee Meetings take an active role and get involved. You won’t regret it.
Finally, I want to welcome Bob Sutter and look forward to his first Bridge message as Chair. Meanwhile, see you as always in the box office/shop, the atrium and the Design Studio. (And in a few short months at our new location!)
Sincerely,
Ellen Oberhart
Chair (former) of the Volunteer Steering Committee
Ellen, you have done a fantastic job as our leader these past two years. This will be an opportunity to use your energy and leadership skills in a different capacity at CAF. Thank you for your many contributions, I’m looking forward to seeing you soon.
