Meet Erin Carlisle, Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement

After participating in many OHCs and CAF river cruises, Erin found a way to make CAF a part of her daily life. She is the new Coordinator of Volunteer Engagement.

Erin grew up in Illinois and graduated from Romeoville High School, but decided to experience life in the mountains for college. After graduating with a Psychology degree, Erin came back to Illinois to serve as an AmeriCorps member working with Rebuilding Together Aurora. After a year of service, Erin joined their team as their first program manager and stayed for 7 years helping lead volunteers on construction projects and overseeing program development. During those years Erin had the fortunate opportunity to be able to co-found an organization that provides weekly fresh produce to families in need in the Greater Fox Valley area, and she has worked with development for multiple construction companies along the way. When Erin isn’t working she says, “You can find me on a court playing racquetball or digging in the dirt getting produce ready.”

Erin had an apartment in the Lincoln Park neighborhood before moving to Aurora to be closer to work, but is excited to move back to the city. She loves the west and misses the snow on mountains, but Chicago will always be home. It is where her three nieces and nephew live after all!

Erin thrives on meeting new people and developing relationships, so she is very excited to be meeting all the VEVs and Docents. She also can’t wait to learn more from the wealth of knowledge and stories about our Chicago Architecture on every tour she can go on! She takes all of her out-of-town visitors on the CAF tours. “It is the one thing all my friends will do together, and everybody loves the opportunity!” she says.
