Learn A New Tour in 2025 – New Opportunities

Chicago Elevated
The ‘L’ tour is seeking new docents, with a priority for people who can fill a need for weekend tour coverage. It’s a lively 2-hour tour with great opportunities for storytelling and flexibility in content that lets you be creative. You can easily expect to give at least 5 tours a year. In-person training will take place on 3 Saturdays, April 5, 26, and May 3 from approximately 9am – 1pm.

River Front Art Deco
This is a 90-minute Essential tour that, before ending at the Mart, takes guests inside five beautifully restored Art Deco lobbies, including the red-marbled lobby of the Century Tower, an unusual but unsung polychromatic brick gem. In winter, the tour is shortened to 60 minutes and ends at CAC. In any season, Deco Riverfront is a fun way to immerse guests in Art Deco, the glitzy eclectic style of the Roaring 20’s. In-person training will take place on 3 Saturdays: March 1, 8, and 15 with sessions running from 9am to 4pm.

August Music-Focused Bus Tour
The music bus tour will look at the structures where music affiliated with Chicago was made — from Chess Records and the Buddy Guy Club that brought us both jazz and pop rock to the CSO and Auditorium theater that brought us classical music to the venues of today. While we may not be going to concerts, we will learn about the buildings in which the music was played.

Ukrainian Village
The Ukrainian Village tour is being returned from the vault to accompany an exhibit at the Center, and we need someone to take charge of the tour. If you are interested in serving as a Tour Director, contact Tom Carmichael (ca***********@gm***.com).
