Tip of the Month: Adding Service Hours and Continuing Education

It’s that time of year again……add your Service Hours and Continuing Education requirements!

Service Hours
Service hours are contributions of time made to CAC in ways other than giving tours and regularly scheduled shifts. Service hours are combined with tour and shift hours to determine benefit levels. Service hours are different than continuing education activities. There is no requirement to contribute service hours but it can increase your membership level!

Continuing Education (Docents Only)
The requirement to complete one continuing education activity yearly applies only to the docents.

The following activities qualify as Continuing Education:
● Take three tours for which you are not certified (Enter as ONE continuing education credit)
● Learn, certify, and give a new tour.
● Attend a CAC-sponsored program or lecture (programs offered outside of the CAC do not count)
● Attend a docent enrichment event.
● Attend an event sponsored by the Education Committee (e.g., All Docent Day)

Adding service hours and continuing is easy! Check out the link below for a quick tutorial on how to add these to  your volunteer history.

The big thing to remember is to use Service Hours (or Continuing Education) for the Project Calendar (NOT THE TOUR!!!!) and Service (or Continuing Education) as the type. It needs to be in that format for requirement processing.
