Jeff Edstrom, 1999
We coordinated a visit to a professional tenant of the Monadnock Building, with the CAC walking tour of the building on 2/14/2020. The CAC docent, Jeff, was as good as it gets. He knows everything most people would want to know. He welcomed opportunities to learn more from people on the tour, and from researching questions.  On this indoor/outdoor tour, we learned about the architecture in the contexts of history, financing, development, occupancy, technical advances, and all the interesting behind-the-scenes stories, many from Jeff’s personal experience as a tenant.  He would point to a feature and build an explanation around it. A terrific 2 hours of seeing a host of historic buildings in downtown Chicago. The Historic Treasures tour guide (Elizabeth) provided in-depth knowledge of the buildings architecture, history and facts regarding their genesis. The two hours flew by. – jphhall

This Historic Treasures tour was excellent. Mark was a wonderful tour guide. Although I’m a lifelong Chicagoan, there are so many aspects to the beautiful historic buildings that I had never before noticed. Mr. Sears, Thank you for sharing your expertise with us yesterday on the Art Deco Skyscrapers Loop tour. I found the tour fascinating. I never really understood the genesis of Art Deco style.
